MORE INFORMATION

Your Session:

Location.
It is important to choose a location that reflects your personal style. Rather it be at a park, a beach, a busy city street, or even the comfort of your own home, location is the main key to making your custom photography session…well, custom. I welcome and encourage all ideas. I believe if you are a part of the planning process, it will increase the overall experience of the session.

Styling.
What to wear? A very common concern indeed. Often you will hear to stay away from plaid, polka dots, and loud or busy patterns. Its really up to you, but if you want my opinion (and it is just an opinion), here goes:
- When its all said and done, its your photo! If you love polka dots, wear them. It’s more important that you are comfortable and in a style that reflects you. If you are not comfortable in what you are wearing, it will show in your body language.
- They say darker colors are more slimming. You can test that theory if you would like. But be realistic in your expectations.
- Be mindful of the location. If you choose a field or park, but you don’t want to get your new (or old) *insert name brand here* messed up/dirty, consider that before wearing it, or when choosing your location.
- Feel free to bring more than one set of clothing. Multiple changes are permitted as long as the session stays within the given time frame. Or you can wear layers which can add to the versatility of shots.
- For family portraits, rather than dressing identically, which can look overdone, try wearing the same colors or color schemes. Maybe even different shades of the same color. Be creative, but stay true to yourself.
- Be cognizant of grooming. Not just showering, that includes hair (facial hair for guys), nails (including toenails), teeth, or whatever else can be a potential issue for you. If you think you would see the picture and “wish you arched your eyebrows” or “wish you did your nails” or wish you did anything, just do it up front to avoid the problem.

Rules.
Yes I have rules that all must abide by. Actually its just one (for now).

Have fun!

No really. Laugh. Jump. Sing. Cry (happy tears of course). Whatever. If your not comfortable it’ll show in your pictures. Be relaxed. Forget the camera is there. Easier said then done, I know. But do try. For Me :-)

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland.

I’m a make-believe chef, storyteller, full service maid, and teacher to my very beautiful daughter who everyone says is a carbon copy of me.

And when I’m not doing that, I am snuggled somewhere under a blanket cultivating the bookworm tendencies innately in me. I love to read, mostly non-fiction. I also love snuggling up with a good movie. Plot is 99.9% important to me. It can make or break a movie, or a book for that matter.

And when I’m not doing that, I am somewhere with a pen scribbling illegible symbols that resemble words onto paper. I am a writer, more specifically a poet. I love to paint pictures with my words, because I’m no good at it with a brush. I began writing poetry in elementary school. God-willing, one day I will be published.

And when I’m not doing that I am somewhere with a camera in my hand capturing moments that would otherwise never again be seen and fade from a viewers memory like the sun after a long days work. Photography is a passion I discovered late in life. Looking back, I realize I always had a love/desire for photos, but I didn’t realize that it was something I was being called to do.

Before that, I could be seen wandering around the campus of Morgan State University, where I received my Undergraduate English with a minor in Psychology.

Currently I may be seen on the campus of Tai Sophia where I am working on my Graduate degree in Herbal Medicine. I plan on getting my certification in Nutrition.

I love spoken word and I love going to open mics.

I love Green tea.

I absolutely can’t go a day without music. It keeps me going. I really want to learn how to play the guitar. Maybe one day I will.

I thank God for the talent and physical capabilities to be able to pursue my (many) passions in life.

There is so much more to me than this. But I don’t want to bore you. :-)
